Word Workshop is a complete word search puzzle built with the PlayCanvas engine. A cluster of letter tiles sits on an inventor’s workbench and a category sits above it. Press a tile, drag across the tiles it touches, and spell one of the answers. Clear them all before the clock runs out.

Nothing on the board falls or shuffles. Every answer is there from the first moment, so the only thing between the player and the solution is spotting the word. Three boosters are there for the level that will not come apart: open a single letter, freeze the clock, or reveal a whole answer.

The game opens straight onto a level. There is no home screen to walk through, no menu tree, no waiting: finish a level and the next one deals itself. Progress is saved in the browser, so a player picks up where they left off.

Game Features

• 1,000 levels in English, 150 categories and over 5,300 answers, each level machine-verified as solvable
• Hexagon board, six neighbours per tile so words bend and wind instead of running in straight lines
• Nothing moves, clearing a word takes only its own tiles, so no order of play can strand the player
• Five minute clock, with the last ten seconds beating red
• Three boosters, open a letter, freeze the clock for ten seconds, or reveal an answer for a couple of seconds
• Teaching tutorial, a hand traces the first answer along its real path, then hands the board over
• Win and loss screens, three stars, a gold payout and the character reacting to both outcomes
• End of pack panel, a player who finishes all thousand levels is told so and offered a fresh start
• Settings panel, music, sound and a full progress reset
• Portrait and landscape, with separate artwork drawn for each orientation
• Touch and mouse, one build for phones, tablets and desktop
• No build step, 62 ES modules loaded natively by the engine, nothing to install and nothing to compile
